Welcome Bands of Bali

Dear Schools of Bali,

Thank you for your interest in the 1st Annual SLK Bali Band Competition.

As we have informed you, the Annual SLK Bali Band Competition is a festival where bands from different schools from around Bali are able to showcase their talent in front of dedicated and expert judges. The competition will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 beginning at 4 pm. It will take place at Sekolah Lentera Kasih on Jalan Gunung Salak no. 88, Kerobokan - Bali (see the google map on the blog for details).

We look forward to your participation and hope you will join us for this event. We expect this event to be a very popular one so we would like to encourage you to send us your registration form with the payment as soon as possible (see the online registration below).

Online Registration

Online registration is opened now!

Please fill in the registration form below and press 'submit'. After you have submitted the form we will have all the required information in our database. We will send you an e-mail to confirm your successful registration.

We would like to remind you that for the successful registration you have to submit the registration form via online and your financial department has to also send a copy of the transfer slip to the e-mail address mentioned on the registration form. The registration fee is Rp. 500.000 per band (included snack for the band members and a free band workshop by Ponch Satria who will be one of our judges). You can find the transferring details on the bottom of the registration form.

If you send more than one band it is enough to submit one registration form with both of your bands' information.

Details and rules

Please read this carefully because we will post here the important rules and details of the competition...

We would like to remind you that we will accept a maximum of ten bands from other schools and we will follow the 'first come, first served method. Please also note that every school is allowed to send a maximum of two bands and the band members of the group should be from grade 7 to grade 12. Every team has to prepare two songs, however there is a possibility that every band will play only one piece, depending on how many participants we will have. Bands are allowed to choose whatever piece they want, however they must keep in mind that the lyrical content must be appropriate.

Registration fee: The registration fee is Rp 500.000 per band and the fees will not be refunded due to Annual SLK Bali Band Competition

Awards:
Certificate and Rp 2.000.000 for the 1st place
Certificate and Rp 1.500.000 for the 2nd place
Certificate and Rp 1.000.000 for the 3rd place
Certificate only for the other participants

Adjudication: Three judges will be used for the competition, whose names will be uploaded on this blog soon

Competition time limits: We will inform you about this after we know how many bands will participate

Sound check: Please note that only the first performer will get the chance to have sound check on stage before the competition starts

Order of performances: It will be decided by a random draw in March during our technical meeting, where you also will be invited. We will inform you via email about the exact date and time of this technical meeting

Equipment: The 1st ASBBC committee will provide a drum set (snare, two toms, one floor tom, bass drum, one 16" crash cymbal, one 20" ride cymbal), Yamaha PSR-S700 keyboard, Roland E-38 keyboard, two electric guitar amplifiers, a bass amplifier, two keyboard amplifiers and microphones. Each band must bring their own guitars and any other equipment

Exhibition band: SLK Teachers Band will be the final band of the festival and will not compete
